One policy that our largest job board www.NVJobSearch.com follows to separate itself from the competition is its’ NO ADULT ORIENTED advertising policy. We do this for several reasons. The first, we do not feel that it is appropriate. The second, and probably the most important, is that our technology is being used by the local school district. This type of advertising would surely be offensive to the administration and the parents of these high school students.
The “No Stripper Ad” policy is one that we put in place when we first started publishing the Las Vegas Employment News in 1993. We did this to ensure our newspaper was delivered in all of the local area high schools. It is a policy that we stay true to today… almost 15 years later.
Our competitors obviously do not take the same position:
Another national board was caught allowing prostitution ads on its website back in 2006.
As much as this may sound like BIG business in Las Vegas ….
…….I think we will pass.
