Should we dispose of job descriptions?

by doug on January 23, 2008

Lou Adler recently wrote a post Why You Must Eliminate Job Descriptions.

I must say, it was a good read.  There is a lot to be learned from his post. I agree that employers make a bad habit of just copying and pasting a job description into an online job posting.

However, I believe time just needs to be spent writing a good (and compelling) job description.

Seth Godin, one of my favorite authors and one of the most read bloggers by business CEOs, just announced one of his companies, Squidoo, was hiring a new software programmer.

I encourage you to compare Seth’s job posting to your own.  There is a lot to be learned there as well.
