Greenspun wins several HR awards

Greenspun CorporationWe all know the importance of building a great company culture.  When Recruiting Nevada was acquired by the Greenspun Media Group (GMG), I knew that GMG had a desirable company culture and was an employer of choice.

This was confirmed in the past few weeks as the Greenspun Corporation received several new awards.  We were awarded the Nevada State Psychological Association’s 2008 Psychologically Healthy Workplace Award.  The Psychologically Healthy Workplace Award program is designed to recognize organizations that make a commitment to programs and policies that foster employee health and well-being while enhancing organizational performance and productivity.

We were second place winners of the 2008 Best Places to Work in Southern Nevada in the large employer category.  The Best Places To Work Award program searches for outstanding workplaces in Southern Nevada.  Our community is known for its leadership and innovations in technology, hospitality, gaming and business.  In part, these advances are due to creative people practices, from learning and career development activities to generous work/life programs, from inventive pay plans to health and fitness promotions.   According to the judges….”The Greenspun Corporation has taken the concept of employee wellness to a whole new level….”.

Finally, we received a gold level designation from the American Heart Association’s Start! Fit-Friendly Companies.  This program recognizes employers that champion the health of their employees and work to create a culture of physical activity in the workplace.  A special advertising section in the October 27 issue of Forbes magazine will include a list of companies that received this award.

So needless to say, it is nice to be part of a company that ’gets it.’
